Google Pixel 6 will apparently feature Google-made chipset

Google Pixel 6 qualifications may comprise a Google’s “Whitechapel” SoC co-developed with Samsung.

KEY POINTS

  • Google is assumed to be co-developing Whitechapel with Samsung
  • Google Pixel 6 could be motorized by Google’s “GS101” Whitechapel chipset
  • Google will gaze to yield on Apple, Huawei, and Samsung in the chipset business

Google Pixel 6 will be one of the initial expedients to ship with Google’s ‘GS101’ Whitechapel chipset, conferring to a report from 9to5Google. This cascades in line with Google CEO, Sundar Pichai’s clues about “some profounder funds in hardware” and “tremendous roadmap forward” in 2021. Whitechapel will arise as an effort on Google’s part to construct their own SoCs that will be used in Pixel phones and Chromebooks alike. This should agree the Mountain View giant to better compete with Apple and probably Samsung in a limited market. Google is supposed to be co-developing Whitechapel with Samsung.

Additionally, Google will apparently promote devices with the Whitechapel chipsets as soon as 2021, according to the documentation viewed by 9to5Google. Whitechapel is being used in connection with the codename “Slider” in the document and the same reference was also found in the Google Camera app. Internally, Google refers to this chip as “GS101”, with “GS” potentially being short for “Google Silicon.” Additionally, when observed at other projects connected to “Slider”, the codename is directly connected to Samsung, comprising references to Samsung Exynos.

"Google Pixel 6 rumour clues at an actual Apple-like move"

It appears that Whitechapel is being established with Samsung Semiconductor’s system large-scale integration (SLSI) division. This could mean that Google chipsets can have several common factors with Samsung Exynos, including software components.

So the Bottom-line is, Google Pixel 6 will arise with a centre punch-hole camera and that’s all only we know still now.
